Arkham Horror miniatures aren’t required to play the popular board game based on the works of H.P. Lovecraft, but they can add a nice touch to regular gaming sessions. Arkham Horror and its many expansions (including The King in Yellow and The Dunwich Horror) include investigator cards with colorful artwork and detailed descriptions, and players keep track of their characters on the board by moving cardboard likenesses. This may be sufficient for casual players, while hardcore fans of Lovecraftian horror may want to take their devotion to the next level.
This article lists all the Arkham Horror miniatures currently available, as well as providing a description of each. I’ve even done some comparative shopping, which is meant to assure you of getting the best deal possible on horror miniatures.
If you want to own a complete set of Arkham Horror miniatures,
your best bet is to visit the
Fantasy Flight Games
website. Not only are
they the publishers of Arkham Horror, but they also publish
Elder
Sign and
Mansions of Madness. And since these miniatures are made
in small batch quantities, they don’t offer their
Call of Cthulhu
figurines through other retailers or distributors.

Akachi Onyele - A female shaman in multi-colored ceremonial attire. Her arms are outstretched as if in the process of calling upon the forces of nature.
Individual Arkham Horror miniatures can be purchased from Fantasy Flight Games for $3.99 each, and each comes pre-painted. If you prefer, you can buy a complete set of Arkham Horror miniatures for $191.52, which includes all 48 investigators.
In addition to the Fantasy Flight website, you can also find Arkham Horror figures available on eBay. When I conducted my search, two different auctions were offering the entire set of miniatures. The first was selling the set for $231.18, while the second was $197.65 (with free shipping). I also saw a nice wooden case for $85 that was crafted to hold all of the game figures.
A number of individual miniatures were also available for purchase on eBay. The same seller must have listed all of them, as each was priced at $5.96.
As you can see, the Fantasy Flight Games site offers Arkham Horror figures for the cheapest price. However, gamers looking for a bargain might be able to find a better deal by paying close attention to eBay. But no matter where you buy them, these pre-painted investigators will add additional flavor to a horror board game that’s already brimming with danger and excitement.
